We’re always in awe of our customers and the creative ways they come up with to use print. This week, we asked packaging material suppliers, Kingfisher Packaging, all about their business and how they use print marketing to spread the word about their business. Here’s what they had to say…


1.    Tell us a little about Kingfisher Packaging - what makes it unique?

Kingfisher Packaging came into being in 1975. The company has enjoyed steady growth underpinned by its core values, and has accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience in the packaging industry along the way. Having been a family business for nearly 45 years now, Kingfisher retains the very best of traditional values coupled with unrivalled cutting-edge products and systems. We are now firmly established as one of the UK’s leading suppliers of packaging materials, systems and machinery to business all across the UK and farther afield. Since 2008 we have operated from our current freehold site in Wellington, housing both our offices and showroom together with the warehousing and logistics facility, with a further warehouse nearby.

2.    What inspired you to start up?

With a passion to revolutionise the way packaging is used, Kingfisher has always been at the forefront of the industry. Right from the outset, Kingfisher has focused on creating efficiency and effectiveness from every product our customers use. We have combined our industry-leading ranges of quality, branded packaging materials and equipment with our commitment to a simple, honest, on-time, quality service. We are committed to always having a direct, positive impact on our customers’ profitability.

By working closely with our extensive network of suppliers, we are the link between the world’s most innovative manufacturers and our customers. We bring high quality packaging products and systems to our customers at competitive prices and we focus on cost reduction and cutting packaging waste. 


3.    What print product do you use and how much do you use them?

At Kingfisher, even with the current shift to online marketing, print has always played a key role in our marketing campaigns. Customers still like to receive a physical document like a brochure or leaflet that clearly and concisely sets out all they need to know about a product and how it will benefit their business. We use leaflets, flyers, booklets, thankyou cards and calendars as well as banners and other large format print to name a few. 


4.    How do you make your customers feel special?

Our entire team is focused on providing a simple, honest, on-time, quality service and a delightful customer experience at every touchpoint. We focus on forging a lasting supply partnership with our customers as a trusted advisor, offering far more than just the products, helping them stay relevant to their own customers.

Another key service we provide is our highly valued packaging consultancy. Within this we explain to our customers how cost savings can be made, how to create a positive impact on the environment and what packaging materials are best suited to their requirements. Environmental packaging solutions has always been a priority and by keeping our customers ahead of industry trends, we help them to be at the forefront in their market.


5.    What made you choose these print products? And what results have you seen? 

I first came across instantprint when we became an authorised distributor of Omegatech® and UK Distributor of spiral wrapping machines. When we were creating the campaign, we knew we needed a high quality range of literature that would form part of the marketing and these products were just what we were looking for, combined with the excellent service and support from instantprint. We have seen excellent result from this campaign, with continual growth and very positive forecasts for the future. 


6.    How do you find the instantprint experience?

In a word: Excellent. The whole system of ordering, artwork, proofing, delivery and support is very simple and straightforward. When you are running full campaign in a fast paced industry, you don’t always have time to wait for the different print departments to respond on every stage of the way and instantprint have disputed the industry by removing all of this, creating a process that is highly efficient and easy to use.
