Frequently Asked Artwork Questions
What type of paper should I choose to print my drilled stapled calendar on?
We offer a range of different stock options for drilled calendar printing to help you customise your print as much as possible. For inside pages, you can choose between a 120gsm uncoated and a 150gsm silk. The 120gsm option is the cheaper of the two and is slightly thinner to the touch, but it’s also the one that’s easiest to write on. It feels like a thicker, more premium version of standard office printer papger. 150gsm silk gives the pages a slightly glossier, sleek look, like a promotional flyer or magazine type of paper, that’s perfect for premium brands.
You can either keep the cover paper the same as the inside pages or choose a thicker stock for a sturdier feel. 160gsm uncoated is a writable stock that’s slightly thicker than the inside pages, but if you want to make a really big impact, we’d recommend the 250gsm silk – a lovely, silky, thick card that’ll keep your inside pages protected and look amazing at the same time.
How are my calendar books bound?
We bind stapled book calendars using a special machine called a Stitchliner. Sometimes called saddle stitching, it uses metal wire to stitch together the pages of your calendar. The pages are folded and lined up on top of each other in the correct order before being stapled, or stitched, together with the wire.
How do I hang my drilled calendar?
Hanging your custom calendar booklet is super easy! We’ve pre-drilled holes into the spot where you need to pin it. First, open the calendar to the page you want to display and lay it out flat – you may need to bend the pages back on themselves to flatten it properly. Hold it on the wall and carefully push a pin through the hole we’ve created. To change the page at the end of the month, remove it from the wall, change the page and re-pin.
When will my calendars be delivered?
As long as you approve your proof before our cut off time of 6:30pm, your finished drilled calendars should be with you in just 3 working days. For example, if you approved your order by 6:30pm on a Monday, we’d dispatch your order on Wednesday and it’d be delivered on Thursday.
How do I upload my calendar design?
You should upload your calendar artwork after placing your order.
To do this, add your product to the basket and then use our uploader tool. If you're having issues with the upload process, complete your order and then email your artwork to our Studio team at artwork@instantprint.co.uk who’ll then set it up for print for you.

Standard Turnarounds
For our standard turnaround and delivery options, you have until 6:30pm to order and approve your artwork. Simply select an option above with a delivery date that suits you and we’ll ensure it arrives with you on time.
Extended Areas
If your delivery address is in one of the postcodes highlighted on our delivery help page as an extended area, delivery will take a further working day.
Delivery Prices
Our standard delivery cost is £4.99, which is DPD tracked delivery. You can also upgrade to DPD pre-noon delivery for £9.99. Standard delivery is free on orders over £75. You'll be able to select your delivery option at the checkout. For more information, please see our delivery help page .

Setting Up Your Wire Bound Book
We recommend you download one of our blank templates that can be found in the templates section or use the product measurements on the right to create a design in a third-party tool.
Please supply your artwork as a single PDF containing all pages in the correct sequence order. When preparing your artwork, ensure you follow the template provided, allowing for the spine width and maintaining the required safe area around the wire binding.
If you are emailing your design over to us, please note, due to the extra checks that we carry out for this product, it can take up to 4 hours to receive your proof.
