Setting up and designing your artwork is nice and easy. We’ve put together some helpful tips and advice on how to get started with the creative process.
It’s important to ensure you set up your A4 flyer correctly at the start as this helps with the approval and printing process later on down the line. The finished size of your A4 flyer is 210mm x 297mm, so you’ll need to set your artwork up at 216mm x 303mm. This will allow for the very important 3mm bleed needed on both sides.
Before you begin putting your ideas “down on paper”, you must set your colour mode to CMYK and use high resolution images (at least 300dpi) only. Anything less than this will affect the quality of your finished A4 leaflet printing. If you’re using company brand fonts or anything more bespoke, you’ll need to ensure that you embed or flatten them as we may not have them here at instantprint.

What if I don’t have an A4 flyer design?
No design? No problem! In our library you’ll find a range of A4 flyer design templates which are ideal for helping you to get started, or even if you need a little bit of inspiration.
If you already have an idea or design in mind but are unsure about getting your template set up, you’re in luck. Our internal team have created blank A4 flyer design templates which are available online and are compatible with Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and PDF.
Which paper type should I choose for my A4 leaflets?
The paper type you choose is affected by a number of things. From the cost and your budget, to the finished look and what you’ll be using them for – these are some of the elements you’ll need to consider.
If you’re looking for cheap A4 leaflets, our value silk (150gsm) keeps your costs down while offering the same quality as most other printing companies’ “standard” paper type. For something a little more high-end, our classic silk (250gsm) and premium silk (350gsm) paper options are both heavier and thicker, giving them that luxury look and feel.
We also have recycled (350gsm) and Kraft (475mic) stock available for those who want to offer something a little different.
