Make Details Shine
Choose gold or silver foil to highlight parts of your design, such as a logo, name or pattern. Foil is available with matt or velvet lamination.
How to Set Up Your Artowrk
Upload two files: your finished design and a separate foil file showing only the areas you want foiled. In the foil file, make those areas bright orange and leave the background transparent. Call your foil file something like 'Foil.pdf'
Before You Upload
- Keep foil at least 3mm from the edge and away from folds.
- Make sure foiled text is at least 8pt.
- Check your proof to see the foil layer on its own and over your design before printing.

Artwork Made Easy
1. Set up your artwork in your own design software at the exact custom size you need, then add a 3mm bleed and a 3mm safe zone on all sides. This ensures your design prints edge-to-edge and no important details are lost when the pages are trimmed.
2. Upload your design after adding your product to the basket, our proofing tool checks for common issues and generates a proof for you to approve.

How are my high-quality business cards printed?
We have a dedicated business card room in our production facility where all cards, including our premium business cards, are printed on our impressive Heidelberg Speedmaster ensuring high quality, lithographic print.
What is foiling?
Foiling allows you to add a glossy layer to certain parts of your design. It can be really effective if used on your logo or company name and make your professional business cards stand out from the crowd.
Foiling is only available on premium business cards with matt finish. Check out our Foil/Spot UV Guide for help setting this up and upload them in your basket along with your artwork.
How do I upload my quality business cards design?
It’s quick and easy to get your artwork to our team. When you add your business cards to your basket, you’ll be prompted to upload your artwork. Alternatively, if you want to continue shopping or if your design isn’t quite finished yet, you can upload your premium business card artwork in your basket at a later time.
Do you offer double-sided foiling?
We recognise the importance of high-quality print for our customers, which is why we never send out any finished product that doesn’t meet our gold standard. When we apply foil to our print, it must be cured at a high temperature to set it into place. When we apply heat to the second side for double-sided foiling, this can leave the first side looking less than perfect. For that reason, we don’t offer double-sided foiling.
Can I get foil or spot UV on rounded corner business cards?
To ensure the highest quality business card finishes possible, we are currently unable to offer rounded corners with a foil or spot UV finish. If you've selected foil or spot UV then select rounded corners, this will remove the embellishment from your order.
What is the smallest size font I should use on my professional business card design?
To ensure your prospective clients and customers are able to see your all important information, we recommend using a font size no smaller than 7pt as this will ensure your details are legible.
How do I add foil to my print?
To see our foil options, select matt or velvet lamination. Then, you’ll be able to pick from a range of foil printing colours. To design your foil, check out our foil artwork guide.
Please note that foiling must be 6mm from the edge of the page and cannot extend outside of the safety area shown on our templates.
Should I order square or rounded corner business cards?
It depends on the look and feel you want to create for your brand.
Square-cut business cards are the classic choice — clean, sharp and professional. They’re ideal if you want a traditional look or a crisp, corporate finish.
Rounded corner business cards offer a softer, more modern style that stands out subtly. The smooth edges feel great to hold and help prevent corners from scuffing, keeping your cards looking fresher for longer.
What type of finish can I have on my business card?
Your finish options depend on the card style you choose.
If you go for rounded corner business cards, these are available on 350gsm Uncoated or 450gsm Silk stock, with a choice of Matt or Velvet lamination for a smooth, premium feel.
If you choose square-cut business cards, you’ll have access to our full range of finishes and embellishments, including Spot UV and Foiling, alongside all laminate types - perfect if you want to add extra shine or texture to your design.
