What are instantprint's aluminium signs made from?
instantprint's aluminium signs are made from 3mm aluminium composite: a polyethylene core between two aluminium sheets. The panel is rigid, waterproof and corrosion-resistant, making it suitable for long-term indoor and outdoor signage.
Aluminium composite is different from solid aluminium. The 3mm thickness refers to the whole panel, including its core.
Are aluminium signs waterproof and suitable for outdoor use?
Yes. instantprint's aluminium composite signs are waterproof and corrosion-resistant, so they're suitable for long-term outdoor use, including shopfronts, business signs and directional signage.
They also work indoors for office receptions and wayfinding. Choose fixings suited to the panel, mounting surface and conditions.
What sizes of aluminium sign can I order?
instantprint's aluminium signs are available in four standard sizes:
- A0: 841 × 1,189mm
- A1: 594 × 841mm
- A2: 420 × 594mm
- A3: 297 × 420mm
You can also select Custom size and enter your dimensions in millimetres, within the limits shown in the product options.
Can I order circular or custom-shaped aluminium signs?
Yes. Choose Custom shape under Cut Type to order an aluminium sign shaped to your design, including circles and directional arrows.
For rectangular signs, choose square corners or rounded corners. Custom size changes the panel's dimensions; custom shape changes its outline.
Can aluminium signs be printed on both sides?
No. instantprint's aluminium signs are printed on one side only.
If you need a sign printed on both sides, choose Correx signs with double-sided printing.
Can I order aluminium signs with drilled holes?
Yes. Choose pre-drilled holes in all four corners, or select no holes.
The holes are 6mm in diameter and positioned 10mm from the edge. Custom hole positions, holes in only two corners and eyelets aren't available.
How do I mount an aluminium sign?
Mount an aluminium sign with pre-drilled holes using suitable screws and wall plugs for your mounting surface.
Signs without holes can be mounted using tape suited to the aluminium composite panel, surface and conditions. For outdoor mounting, choose fixings or tape rated for outdoor use and the sign's size and weight.
Can I order several aluminium signs with different designs?
Yes. Add each different design as a separate basket item. For example, a reception sign and a directional sign need separate items, even if they're the same size.
Bulk pricing applies to multiple copies of the same design. Different designs are priced separately, so five unique designs can cost more than five copies of one design.
Can you print aluminium signs with different names or numbers?
Yes, if you supply each version as a separate design and add it as a separate basket item. instantprint doesn't offer automatic variable data or sequential printing on aluminium signs.
For example, ten signs numbered 1 to 10 require ten artwork designs and ten separate basket items.
