What is foil printing?
Foil is a special finishing technique in printing where heat, pressure and glossy UV are used to bind a thin film of metallic foil to paper or card. Foil printing is used to create a memorable and high quality finish on invitations and other print materials.
What foil colours are available?
We offer gold foil invites, and silver.
What other products can I add foil to?
Foil printing is available on business cards, flyers, stapled booklets, perfect bound booklets, invitations, greetings cards and presentation folders. Why not create a matching set?
How do I set up foil invitation artwork for print?
Please see our foil guide for full instructions on setting up foil invites for print. Our artwork team is also happy to set up foil for you.
If you’d like us to set up your foil, please place your order without uploading any artwork. Then send your artwork to us in an email to artwork@instantprint.co.uk , using your order reference number as the subject line. In the email, let us know where you’d like us to add the foil and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can with an artwork proof showing what this will look like.
Please note that foiling must be 6mm from the edge of the page and cannot extend outside of the safety area shown on our templates
What is the smallest size font I should use on these cards?
We recommend using a font size no smaller than 7pt. This will ensure your details are legible.
How are they printed?
We use our state-of-the-art MGI JetVarnish to apply the foil to your design.
