What are the A2 dimensions?
The A2 paper size measures at 420 x 594mm, and is perfect for medium-sized posters which you can use to advertise a seasonal sale in your store, or an upcoming open mic night in your local bar. When you get round to designing your new and exciting artwork, don’t forget you’ll need to add a 3mm bleed to both sides, making your A2 in mm ever so slightly bigger. Don’t work in mm? We’ve got you covered:
A2 size in cm: 42 x 59.4
A2 size in inches: 16.5 x 23.4
A2 size in pixels: 7016 x 4961
Even though A2 is slightly smaller than A1, it still offers lots of space for you to get your all-important information or messaging across to potential customers.
What resolution do I need for A2 printing?
The A2 size is still relatively big, meaning you’ll need to make sure the resolution is correct when you begin designing your artwork. You don’t want potential customers to be squinting trying to see what your poster or banner says, because the image or text is blurry!
By creating your design using a resolution of 420 x 594 mm at 300dpi (dots per inch), you’ll ensure your print is really high quality once it’s produced by us. Don’t forget to add your 3mm bleed too, as this will mean there isn’t a pesky white border around your finished A2 printing (unless of course, that’s part of your design).
Lucky enough to have a team inhouse who will be creating your artwork? That’s great! They’ll know just how to set up the dpi and add the bleed to your blank canvas in programmes like Photoshop and InDesign. If you’re creating your A2 size masterpiece yourself, don’t panic.
