Christina Taylor is one of the ten finalists in the instantprint Inspirational Business Awards, read more about her story and her business, The Aim Sky High Company in this interview.

1.) What has been the toughest part of setting up your business and getting to where you are now?

Two months after I finished my university degree and Masters, I found out I was pregnant. I worked throughout the pregnancy, seven days a week and I even went back two days after giving birth.

2.) Why did you enter the inspirational business awards?

I have bought products from instantprint before and I really like the brand. When I found out they were doing these awards I watched their video which I found inspirational and personable and it spurred me on to enter myself. I would love to receive the title of ‘Britain’s Most Inspirational Small Business Owner’, it would be an honour.

3.) What do you think makes your story so inspirational to other small business start-ups? Andwhy do you think you deserve to win?

I chose to take myself out of a bad situation growing up and used my initiative and entrepreneurial spirit from the age of 13 to achieve my dreams. As a young mum I built my business up whilst having a child. I persevered through when it would have been so easy to give up.

I have worked with more than 2,000 children from underprivileged backgrounds – it’s great to see the children’s achievements and to help them to achieve their dreams appearing on TV shows and winning competitions. With eight freelance members of staff, our first year as a registered limited company 2014-2015 we have generated over £100,000 turnover.

4.) If you could give one piece of advice to small business start-ups, what would it be?

Persevere! And have confidence in yourself and your ideas.#

5.) If you win, what do you plan to do with the prize money and promotional products?

With the promotional products I would promote my dance classes and with the prize money I’d reinvest it into the business.

You have until Sunday 6th December to vote for Christina & The Aim Sky High Company as Britain's Most Inspirational Business.
