Finding the best print options to help your business grow can be tricky – which is where our eCommerce Merchandiser Jon comes in! From optimising your experience of buying print online to ensuring we offer the options you need, Jon’s role at instantprint is all about making it as easy as possible to fulfil your print requirements. 

This week, we shone the spotlight on Jon to find out more about how his role fits into the customer journey, his favourite print products and why he loves working at instantprint!


How long have you worked at instantprint and how has your role progressed/what have you learnt?

I have been at instantprint now for just over 6 months, and in that time, I have had a steep learning curve, growing my print knowledge to ensure I’m an expert in all of the different products we offer – including the terminology used in the printing industry.


What does your average day look like?

No one day is the same at instantprint! One day I can be setting up new products and merchandising the website, another day I can be working on pricing and the next I can be running reports and analysing our customer journeys! Essentially, it’s my aim to put the right products in front of the right types of businesses to help them fine-tune their print strategy.

The only thing that stays the same is my enormous consumption of tea to keep me going (strong, lots of milk, no sugar!).


How does your role fit into the customer’s journey?

My role is pivotal in the customer journey. I ensure that the products we offer on the website are optimised and merchandised as smoothly as possible to ease our customers’ journeys and help them find the right print materials to suit their business objectives. 

Whatever page you’re looking at on the website, I’ve had a hand in ensuring it captures all the right details and that products are placed where they should be to help you find exactly what you’re looking for!


What makes you proud about working at instantprint?

There is a real team spirit here at instantprint, and we have achieved so much through working together and embracing our “23:17” value! 

This value comes from the fastest order we’ve ever managed to achieve through teamwork, from the customer placing the order through the website, to getting the job out of the door. This attitude seeps through into everything that we do – and the eCommerce and marketing teams work together like a well-oiled machine.


Tell us your favourite memory of working at instantprint!

It’s difficult to say – within my first two weeks here I had been go karting with the team, took part in the Halloween event (Halloween is taken very seriously here at instantprint!), and even got to meet Prince Edward! With that many fantastic memories, how can I choose a favourite?


What’s your favourite print product and why?

I think it has to be the business card – you can tell so much about the character of a person or business just with one little card. And with the wide range of options we have here at instantprint, it’s so easy to create one that’s completely unique to your brand!


What’s your favourite project that you’ve worked on so far?

So far, I think my favourite projects have definitely been working on the product launches of our new ranges. I love seeing a process from cradle to grave, and seeing the products finally launched and live makes me feel like a proud Dad! We’ve got a lot of product launches in the works at the minute, so keep your eyes peeled for some upcoming releases in the very near future…
