Frequently Asked Questions
When is Black Friday 2023?
Black Friday 2023 begins in the UK on Friday the 24th of November, making this a key date for shoppers up and down the country – as well as businesses looking to boost sales before Christmas.
How Long Does Black Friday Last?
This mega sales weekend continues until Monday the 27th November, also known as Cyber Monday, where e-commerce businesses push their sales. Some businesses run sales for a few weeks around the actual Black Friday date and also on the Sunday of the weekend (known as Sofa Sunday), whereas others begin their ‘early Black Friday’ sales in October!
When Should I Start Preparing My Business for Black Friday?
As a key event in the marketing calendar for your business, there’s no such thing as preparing too early, but you can still come up with new ideas right up until the week before – providing that you market them well! Many of our business clients begin their Black Friday preparations at the start of Autumn.
We do recommend making sure you have a plan in place and have trained staff up to handle an influx of customers you’ll have over the Black Friday weekend. It’s also a good idea to stock up on popular items or products you know will be on sale.
3 Quick Black Friday Marketing Tips Using Print
Although print is an essential part of any Black Friday campaign, knowing how to get the most out of your marketing materials is the key to success during this weekend. Here are our top tips!
1. Decorate Your Shop - Use posters , stickers, strut cards and roller banners to shout about your sales. Otherwise, customers might walk past and assume you don’t have any Black Friday sales – and both the customer and you will miss out.
2. Promote Sales Early - Use flyers and other forms of direct marketing to target existing customers (who you know will spend money) before the Black Friday weekend. You could even offer them exclusive access or an early sneak peek at what the offers will be on the day to get them excited (and remind them) about your business.
3. Advertise Outdoors - PVC banners are one of the best tools you can use to advertise upcoming sales, especially in high traffic areas like main roads. In November especially, these waterproof banners come in handy and are extremely eye-catching.
