Personal development is always high on the agenda at instantprint, as our Client Services Team Leader Jo will tell. In this spotlight, we spoke to Jo about her career progression, her favourite projects to train her team of experts and the work she does day-to-day to ensure we’re providing a world-class service for our clients.

1. How long have you worked at instantprint?

I’ve been at instantprint for just over 2 years. I started my journey here as a Client Services Executive before becoming an Experienced Client Services Executive and I’m now currently Client Services Team Leader. The instantprint team has helped me develop leadership skills right from the start of my career here which I can now pass on to my team to help them with their own personal development.

2. What does your average day look like?

My day-to-day includes coaching and training my team of Client Service Executives to ensure our clients are speaking to the very best print experts. Not only are we a friendly and welcoming team to talk to about any query, but we also aim to be as knowledgeable as possible about the printing process so we can give our clients informed recommendations.

3. How does your role fit into the customer’s journey?

Making sure our team has as much knowledge as possible means our clients get world-class service as quickly as possible from people who truly want to help. My team is a key touchpoint for customers who have questions about print and their orders, so training them to empower customers and make them feel confident is really important.

4. What makes you proud about working at instantprint?

100% the people. Every decision we make as the instantprint team always has our clients at the heart. Our team do truly care about the impact they have on our clients. All the different teams go out of their way to help each other and nothing’s ever too much to ask!

5. Tell us your favourite memory of working at instantprint!

I’ve got to say my favourite memory wasn’t technically at work. Two weeks after I first started, we had a company night out. We all went bowling one Saturday and this memory sticks with me as I remember thinking about how I’d never worked for a company before that values team morale that much that they’d organise an event like that for us.

6. What’s your favourite print product and why?

Business cards. They are one of our smallest products but yet have the ability to make such a big impact. When you give someone a business card, you’re giving them a tiny bit of print that reflects on your business. If a customer who’s not heard of your company before picks up your business card, that’s their very first impression. They’re also super versatile - I’ve seen them used as clothing tags, vouchers and even backing cards for earrings!

7. What’s your favourite project to work on so far?

My favourite project has to be our autumn boot camp. Just before autumn, we had a big recruitment drive for our team. We needed to get our new teammates as much training as possible to ensure they were confident in all areas. I liaised with other teams within the business to set up training sessions and delivered training sessions myself. It was great to see the team’s knowledge and confidence grow so quickly.

8. Tell us about your downtime hobbies or a random fact about yourself

Downtime is definitely all about relaxing for me. What better way to relax than a long relaxing bath and a pamper session? When I’m not relaxing, I love going out for a good brunch with my friends.
