Keep things light with a self cover, using the same paper throughout, or choose a 250gsm or 350gsm cover for a sturdier feel. Finishing options include Matt, Gloss and Velvet lamination for added protection, while metallic Foil and Spot UV can highlight logos, headings and the details that deserve a little extra attention. Stapled binding, also known as saddle stitch binding, uses folded printed sheets secured through the centre fold with two metal staples.
It creates a lightweight booklet that opens easily and is well suited to brochures, programmes, magazines, catalogues and event guides.
Long edge binding places the staples along the longest folded edge and is commonly used for portrait booklets. Short edge binding places the staples along the shorter folded edge.
Short edge binding is more suitable for landscape booklets and wider layouts.
Stapled booklets open relatively flat because they use a folded, saddle stitched binding rather than a glued spine.
This makes them suitable for artwork, images or information that flows across facing pages.
Supply your artwork as a print-ready PDF, with each page provided individually in the exact order you want it printed, starting with the front cover and ending with the back cover.

Add 3mm bleed around every edge and keep important text, logos and design elements at least 3mm inside the finished edge.
Artwork should be supplied in CMYK at 300dpi, with fonts outlined or embedded.
