Hi, Amy here. I’m one of the Personal Artworkers here at instantprint and I’ve created this guide on setting up your business card artwork for print.
Double or Single Sided?
When it comes to business cards, you can choose to design on one or both sides. If you do decide to print on both sides, you can either upload each side as a separate artwork file or upload them as different pages in the same file. You’ll see this option when you add the business cards to your basket.
What Size Should My Artwork Be?
Both our premium and economy business cards are standard size: 85 x 55mm. However, you’ll need to add 6mm on for bleed. The size with bleed is 91 x 61mm.
You won’t need to change your design if you want rounded corners – we’ll just trim them into shape for you!
For mini business cards, the sizes are as follows:
- 85 x 25mm finished size
- 91 x 31mm with bleed
Square business cards are:
- 55 x 55mm finished size
- 61 x 61mm with bleed

How Do I Check My Proof?
After you've placed your order and submitted your artwork our talented Studio team will create a proof for you to approve. They'll use our unique 10 point check to look out for a range of things, such as bleed, resolution and colour.
One thing we can’t check for is spelling and grammar. Make sure you proofread your whole document before approving the artwork – especially things like contact and event details.

And remember, if your file size is over 200MB, you can transfer your artwork to us after placing your order via WeTransfer! Just send it to us at artwork@instantprint.co.uk along with your order reference number.
