What paper weights and stocks can I choose for my perfect bound book?
The best paper type depends on how your booklet will be used. Silk is a smooth, professional all-rounder, uncoated is best for writable pages, and gloss gives a high-shine finish that makes colours more vibrant.
You can choose between Silk, Gloss, and Uncoated inner stocks. Inner paper weights include 90gsm, 120gsm, and 170gsm Uncoated, 115gsm, 150gsm, and 170gsm Silk, or 130gsm Gloss. Covers are printed on heavy-duty 250gsm or 350gsm Silk/Uncoated card, or you can opt for a self-cover where the outer cover matches your inner pages.
What is Perfect Binding?
Perfect binding is a bookbinding method where the inner pages are glued together at the spine and attached to a wraparound cover. This creates a clean, square spine and a professional, book-like finish.

Which book sizes can be printed with perfect binding?
Our perfect bound books are available in A4 (210 × 297mm), A5 (148 × 210mm), A6 (105 × 148mm), DL (99 × 210mm), 148mm Square and 210mm Square sizes.
Looking for something different? Create a custom size with a width between 99mm and 315mm and a height between 148mm and 315mm. This gives you more flexibility to create bespoke books, brochures, catalogues and other publications to suit your project.

What is the minimum and maximum page count for perfect bound book printing?
Perfect bound books require a minimum of 32 pages (32pp) and can accommodate up to 450 pages (450pp). A minimum of 32 pages is required to create a wide enough spine for the strong adhesive binding to adhere properly.

If your delivery address is in one of the postcodes highlighted on our delivery help page as an extended area, delivery will take a further working day.
Delivery Prices

Upload Your Design
After adding your print to the basket, our proofing modal will appear. This will check for common issues and generate a 'proof' – simply check and approve this proof to confirm your order! Alternatively, you can email your artwork after purchase to artwork@instantprint.co.uk .
