FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an NCR pad?

NCR stands for No Carbon Required. NCR pads use carbonless paper to transfer handwriting from the white top sheet onto the coloured copies underneath, creating multiple copies without traditional carbon paper.

They're commonly used for invoices, receipts, delivery notes, order forms and other business paperwork.

Every NCR pad also includes a greyboard writing shield, helping prevent your writing from transferring onto the sets underneath.

Why should I use NCR pads?

NCR pads create multiple handwritten copies at the same time, removing the need to scan, photocopy or duplicate forms manually.

They're ideal when one copy needs to go to a customer and another needs to be kept for your records.

What do 2-part, 3-part and 4-part NCR forms mean?

The number of parts refers to the total number of sheets within each NCR set.

  • 2-part NCR (duplicate): one white original and one copy.
  • 3-part NCR (triplicate): one white original and two copies.
  • 4-part NCR (quadruplicate): one white original and three copies.
What is the difference between NCR pads and NCR sets?

NCR sets are individual multipart forms supplied separately, making them easy to distribute between people or locations.

NCR pads contain multiple sets glued together into one pad, keeping your forms together until each set is removed.

Which NCR pad size should I choose?

Choose your NCR size based on how much information your form needs to hold:

  • A3 NCR Pads: Detailed inspections, site surveys and technical forms
  • A4 NCR Pads: Invoices, delivery notes, job sheets and business forms
  • A5 NCR Pads: Compact invoices, order forms and sign-off sheets
  • A6 NCR Pads: Receipts, collection slips and short forms
  • DL NCR Pads: Delivery slips, order pads and narrow forms

When you write on the top sheet, the information is transferred through the carbonless sheets underneath, creating all required copies at the same time.

What is sequential numbering on NCR pads?

Sequential numbering gives each NCR set a unique number, making forms easier to identify, organise and track.

Every sheet within the same set receives the same number, with the next set continuing the sequence. For example, all sheets in one set may show 0001, followed by 0002 on the next set.
