Think You’re Cut Out to Start a Business? Take the Test to Find Out!

Starting your own business is an exciting prospect. Working day-in day-out on something that you’re passionate about, being your own boss, creating your own deadlines and a better work/life balance are just a handful of the things that make it so appealing.

But with all of those advantages comes an underlining pressure- it’s very likely that for a while you’ll be the one and only employee in your business, which means it’s all on your shoulders to get the company underway. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing- some people thrive under these circumstances. But for others, it’s too much to take on and it can make your business ideas much less attractive.

If you’ve ever toyed with the notion of starting a business, the first question you should ask yourself is ‘Do I fit the bill as an entrepreneur?’ Rating yourself objectively is the first step to being a boss (cause’ if you can’t rate yourself, how can you rate potential future employees?). A useful exercise is to ask yourself the hard questions and answer them honestly. This will help you to assess your strengths and weaknesses, while preparing you mentally for what it takes to run a business.

To help you get started, we’ve devised a short test of essential questions so you can see how your personality traits compare to those of a business owner. To complete the test, simply choose one response per question and tally up your total at the end.

Ready to see if you have what it takes? Let’s find out!
